Applicants who must successfully complete a period of adaptation

Please note as and from September 1st 2012 the HSE National Recruitment Service will no longer be acting as the central point for the booking of adaptation placements.  It is the responsibility of the applicant or their employer to now secure adaptation and assessment placements in an approved Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) site.  Please note that NMBI has no role or responsibility in organising adaptation placements.

ADVANCED PRACTICE:  REVIEW of STANDARDS and REQUIREMENTS

NMBI is leading on a project to review the Standards and Requirements for Advanced Practice.  A team known as Working Group Advanced Practice (WGAP) has been established to assist NMBI. Expert representation was sought from a number of different key stakeholders and the WGAP was established from expertise from within and outside NMBI.

ADVANCED PRACTICE: NURSE/MIDWIFE

A nurse/midwife must be registered with NMBI as a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner or a Registered Midwife Practitioner in order to be an advanced practice post holder.
