The Fitness to Practice Committee for the purpose of an inquiry has the powers, rights and privileges vested in the High Court of a High Court Judge in respect of the enforcement of the attendance of witnesses and their examination on oath or otherwise and the compelling of the production of documents, and failure to comply renders a person liable to prosecution for contempt.

Also, a witness before the Fitness to practice Committee is entitled to the same immunities and privileges as is he or she where a witness before the High Court.
