Creativity, Research and Innovation in Nursing and Midwifery Practice

Keynote Speaker: Professor Betty Kershaw, DBE, FRCN, Dean, School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Sheffield.

This conference which was organized by An Bord Altranais, was opened by Mrs. Anne Carrigy, President, An Bord Altrahais.

Mrs Carrrigy stated that "Nursing and midwifery practice has developed to reflect societal expectations of a more informed consumer of healthcare services. Today's nurses and midwives  specialize in the care of particular groups to provide services that make a difference in the lives of those requiring healthcaere. Nurses and midwives provide an excellent service in a rapidly changing health service and are in key positions to influence the quality of healthcare services."
