Requirements and Standards for Post Registration Nursing and Midwifery Education Programmes: 7/7/2010 - A new set of Requirements and Standards for Post-Registration Nursing and Midwifery Education Programmes-Incorporating the National Framework of Qualifications were approved by the Board of An Bord Altranais at its meeting on the 17th June 2010.
Information for Nurses/Midwives looking to apply for registration in Australia: 7/7/2010 - An Bord Altranais is advising nurses/midwives applying to register with an Australian State/Territory to contact the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) for further information regarding Current Professional Status before contacting An Bord Altranais. Please refer to www.anmc.org.au. This is due to the restructuring of the ANMC that came in affect on the 1st July 2010.
Practice Standards for Midwives (2010): 6/22/2010 - At its meeting on the 19th of April 2010, An Bord Altranais approved new Practice Standards for Registered Midwives working in Ireland. These standards will be sent to all midwives on the An Bord Altranais Live Register over the next two weeks. They are also available on the An Bord Altranais website (click here). On the 1st July they will replace the Guidelines for Midwives (3rd Edition) which came into force in September 2001.
Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Midwife Practitioners: 6/11/2010 - The Nurses Rules, 2010, were signed by the Minister for Health and Children on 4th June 2010.
