Nurses and Midwives Act, 2011 signed into legislation
2/3/2012 - An Bord Altranais is pleased to advise that the Nurses and Midwives Act, 2011, was signed into legislation on 21st December, 2011.

2/1/2012 - The Department of Health has reviewed the decision to phase out the payment for the mandatory 36 week rostered clinical placement that occurs in the fourth year of the pre-registration nurse and midwife education programme.
Board Meetings Open to the Public-26 January 2012
1/11/2012 - An Bord Altranais invite nurses, midwives and members of the public to attend their formal Board meetings. The next meeting is on Thursday, 26 January 2012 at 10.00a.m.
Transfer of CNS/CMS files to An Bord Altranais
1/6/2012 - Further to the Government’s decision to dissolve the National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery, and in accordance with the provisions of the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011(Commencement) Order 2011(S.I. No. 715 of 2011), all files relating to Clinical Nurse/Midwife Specialist posts and post holders have been transferred to An Bord Altranais. As per Section 2A (1) (c) (ii) and Section 2B (1) (b) (vi) (11) of the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003 An Bord Altranais is now the data controller. National Clinical Effectiveness Committee
1/3/2012 - The National Clinical Effectiveness Committee (NCEC) is seeking submissions of clinical guidelines for consideration to become part of the national suite of clinical guidelines.
New Online CPD Course Directory
11/30/2011 - In November 2010, the Board of An Bord Altranais approved the establishment of an online CPD Programme Directory. The Directory was launched in autumn 2011.
ALERT: Payment of Annual Retention Fee
11/24/2011 - An Bord Altranais is currently sending out Annual Retention Fee Notices for 2012. These renewal notices detail the methods of payment that may be used to pay the fee. Please note that An Bord Altranais would never, in any circumstances, request payment by means of direct personal contact with a registrant.
New Certificate for Annual Retention Fee Payments 2012
11/16/2011 - The Annual Retention Card has been replaced by an Annual Retention Certificate for 2012 Retention fees paid.
