To search the register, you must enter at least a PIN or Last Name. The First Name field is optional. Searches on First Name alone are not permitted. Uppercase and/or Lowercase letters may be used in a search.
If you do not know the exact spelling of a name, you can use the asterisk as a wildcard in the Last Name/First Name fields. For example, entering Mur* in the Last Name will retrieve all those whose last names begin with Mur (e.g., Murphy, Murtagh).
The results screen displays the PIN, Last Name, First Name and Status.
Status indicates if a nurse/midwife is registered, inactive or unregistered.
Where the status is listed as active this indicates that the nurse/midwife is registered and eligible to practise.
Where the status is listed as inactive this indicates that the nurse/midwife is not actively practising and has requested to be placed on the inactive file.
